Gyms & Schools

School Gym FlooringMulti-purpose is the name of the game for gymnasiums these days, and GYM FLEX™Gym Court by Flex Court was designed with multi-use in mind. Basketball, Volleyball, and a host of other athletic activities can be played on Gym Court. Improved structural strength, and surface rigidity, provide for excellent ball return, whatever the sport is in mind.

Traditionally, gym floors were made of wood. Think back to high school and you can picture it - solid wood with enough stripes painted on to accommodate every sport you ever played - basketball, volleyball, even floor hockey and badminton. Science now teaches us that those traditional floors can cause high-impact injuries on athletes' shins, knees and other joints.

The new generation GYM FLEX™ Synthetic Gym Court flooring is your solution for multi-purpose gyms.

New gym flooring materials

If your school is looking to replace its gym floor, you may want to suggest they look into some of the newer options available. For instance, recommend gym flooring made of synthetic materials - they reduce fatigue injuries to the shins, calves, back and joints. If the gymnasium at your or your child's school has a wood floor that needs to be either refinished or replaced, there are some options available and some points that should be considered. Gym floors should have:

  • Shock absorption
  • Elasticity
  • Stability

Gym Court Flooring System

GYM FLEX™ Gym Court, installed over a 4mm rubber pad immediately creates resilience in the playing surface. Resilient flooring is key to reducing injuries to today’s hard playing athletes. Through technology, we are now able to provide a wide variety of colors to choose from, with no fillers or additives. The result is pure, solid color, through the top surface that is easy to clean and maintain.

  • Heavy Gauge Surface Structure (highest density in the market makes it stronger than all synthetic tile floors in its class)
  • No Wax Finish (reduces visibility of marks and skid marks, and therefore, maintenance)
  • Precise Tight Connectors - Virtually Seamless
  • Reduced Noise (thickest surface in its class)
  • Retrofits over existing floors
  • Low maintenance cost
  • Highest Performance-to-Price ratio in its class

MAPLE FLEX™ will have the playability, and feel of hardwood, without the hardwood price. In fact, as a result of space age technology, it’s better than hardwood. Tougher, easy to repair, low cost, low maintenance, and cannot be damaged by water, or moisture, it becomes the economical choice for all your multi-purpose flooring needs.

MAPLE FLEX™ is the state-of-the-art modular wood laminate aerobics flooring offering the same rigid feel as a wooden floor at a much lower cost life cycle cost…and no moisture problems.

Hardwood surface systemMAPLE FLEX™ has a 1.2mm formica floor laminate top over the existing 4mm thick surface making it the thickest wear layer in the industry. Extremely scratch and scuff resistant. Durable - tougher than most surfaces, including Hardwood.

  • Unaffected by Moisture (MAPLE FLEX™ has been water tested, fully submerged for 100 hours, and will not delaminate, fade or change in any way. Concrete moisture will not affect the product as air movement is allowed under the tile due to our unique arched wall support structure)
  • No risk of mildew or bacterial buildup
  • High Shock Absorption (22% resilience achieved with a 3mm rubber pad. Reduced stress and strain to joints. Reduced risk of serious injury from falls)
  • Low Installation Cost (Installed in a fraction of the time it would take to do the same with a conventional hardwood system.
  • Lowest life cycle costs (No special cleaners required, Never needs sanding, refinishing, or recoating., No sealer required)
